Planning activities include the development of an excavation sequence, assessment of environmental impacts such as noise, visual, storm water, ground water and blasting as well as the overall design of the final reclamation for the site.

Weldon Materials, USACOE Flood Water Detention Basin, Watchung, NJ. This project was designed in conjunction with the US Army Corps of Engineers and entailed using future unexcavated portions of Weldon Materials’ Watchung Quarry as a detention basin to contain flood waters from the Green Brook, located in the Raritan River Basin. H2H staff sized future benches and evaluated ground water seepage potential and designed a detention basin that would both maximize the reserve potential for Weldon Materials and satisfy the storm water detention requirements for the Army Corps of Engineers.

Weldon Materials, Comprehensive Mine Planning and Environmental Assessment/ACOE Reservoir Study, Watchung, NJ. Currently providing project management, geologic and hydrogeologic services to evaluate the expansion alternatives and the potential environmental impacts at two, two-million ton per year operations in northern and central New Jersey.

Weldon Materials, Inc., NYSDOT Source Approval/Hydrogeologic Investigation, Hopatcong, NJ. H2H staff is responsible for installation and logging of approximately 1,400 linear feet of NQ core and installation of bedrock piezometers to maintain NYSDOT Source Approval and evaluate site geologic and hydrogeologic conditions as they relate to proposed quarry deepening and lateral expansion. Involved with report preparation and project management.
