Tilcon New York Inc., Hydrogeologic Investigation, NY. H2H staff were the lead project hydrogeologists to evaluate the deepening of a quarry that was located immediately adjacent to the Hudson River with a floor 200 feet below the Hudson River. A field investigation was developed and an analysis was performed to evaluate the potential to deepen the quarry by an additional 100 feet. Project hydrogeologist who developed the hydrogeologic investigation of a 350-acre proposed sand and gravel mining operation in western New York. Selected boring locations, oversaw the logging, drilling, and sampling process and designed the monitoring wells to best evaluate the ground and surface water relationships within the Ischua Creek drainage basin. Described the hydrogeologic relationships of the watershed based upon grain size distributions, surface and groundwater temperatures, groundwater elevations, and the locations of other surface water features. A comprehensive three-dimensional framework of the study area revealed the sources and sinks of specific streams within the parcel and allowed for the development of the mine plan, which included the creation of a number of lakes, with minimal impacts to the watershed.

NYCO Minerals Inc., Drainage Basin Analysis and Groundwater Study, NY. Completed a drainage basin analysis and groundwater study to evaluate the impact mining will have on the surrounding watershed within the Adirondack Mountains. The 100-acre mining facility set in the eastern Adirondack Mountains was evaluated in terms of its groundwater, surface water, and wetland impacts. Conducted the field delineation of the wetlands as well as described the geological deposit and its surface water and groundwater characteristics.
